TVET Reform and Employement Policies
TVET reform and employment policies aim to fight unemployment and to provide the right skills for the private and public sector to develop and grow. Our work in this sector has focused on providing formulating policies for fighting unemployment and improving the labour market effectiveness, analyze the labour market dynamics and set-up of labour market observatories. Within large restructuring processes we have also advised on the design and implementation of pro-active employment measures, employment and enterprise generation programmes as well as actions to improve the employability of redundant workers and first job seekers, establishment and operation of outplacement services, job clubs and self-employment incentive schemes.
We have carried out a number of projects in the TVET field providing advice on how to reform the Vocational Education and Training systems to better match the needs of the enterprise sector. We have carried out research on the trends of the labour market in view of optimising the VET offering as well as undertaken industrial sector studies to understand both the skills currently needed by the industry and the skills to be developed in order to grow and increase the sector competitiveness . We have provided support to VET schools to update their curricula to the needs of the industrial sector and develop new ones.
We have set-up and operated training centres for managers, entrepreneurs and business consultants and delivered training and re-training programmes for young and adult people involved in pro-active employment measures. Most recently we have run comprehensive capacity building programmes for development organisations, public institutions and private enterprises like in Egypt where we have set up four Sector Enterprise Training Partnerships tasked with providing to the industry the needed skills.
